ALFA ROMEO AND BMW AT VALLELUNGA

Vallelunga hosted Alfa Romeo and BMW teams for a three-day test. Alfa Romeo Racing, BMW Team Germany and BMW Team Italy-Spain covered a great deal of laps around the circuit located near to Rome.

The Alfa Romeo team ran a single 156 car. Brazilian youngster Augusto Farfus who had claimed his first WTCC victory in Macau on last November took the wheel in the first two days and was then replaced by Gianni Morbidelli on the third one. The former F1 Italian driver is currently negotiating with Alfa Romeo to join the team in the 2006 FIA WTCC campaign.

Three Alfa Romeo 156 cars will be run by N.technology in the 2006 FIA World Touring Car Championship. The team directed by Mauro and Monica Sipsz will represent the Italian car maker who will also compete in the Manufacturers’ Championship.
The 22-year old Brazilian Augusto Farfus is facing his third consecutive season with the team and in FIA Touring Cars; last year Farfus was classified fourth in the FIA WTCC, also scoring his first victory in Macau’s Race 1.
Farfus’ team-mates are Gianni Morbidelli and Salvatore Tavano, both from Italy. Morbidelli (36) boasts an impressive racing CV, including Formula One (he started in 67 Grands Prix) and Touring Car successful campaigns as a works driver for BMW, Alfa Romeo (in the 1993 Italian Championship) and Volvo. Tavano (26) was a regular competitor in the FIA Touring Car Championship since 2001 and the winner of the 2004 Italian Super Production title (in an Alfa Romeo 147); last year he raced in both, the World and the Italian Championships with an Alfa Romeo 156 prepared by Antonelli Sport.
N.technology will test at Magny-Cours next week, on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th March.

Diese Wochnende findet das 1. Rennen statt und wie vermutet ist Alfa mit den 159er dabei. Das find ich am Besten, daß sie dieses Auto verwenden, nach den großen Erfolgen mit den 156er!

Am 2. Testtag hat sich BMW dann nach vorne gedrängelt aber es sieht gut aus für Alfa...

Zweiter Testtag der WTCC in Monza endet mit BMW-Führung
Andy Priaulx auf BMW übernahm die Führung in der Rangliste, Salvatore Tavano auf Alfa Romeo setzte sich dann auf Rang zwei durch und Augusto Farfus belegt den dritten Rang. Interessant ist, dass die 9 ersten Fahrer in der Rangliste innerhalb von einer Sekunde liegen.
Damit verspricht der Auftakt zur Weltmeisterschaft am 2. April 2006 in Monza grosse Spannung, da die Autos und die Fahrer alle gleich stark sind.

Verantwortlich ist N.Technology und die fahren als Privatteam mit offizieller Genehmigung und im Auftrag von Alfa. Der Unterschied zum Werksteam ist gering, aber Alfa kann jederzeit sagen: "wir haben nichts damit zu tun...".
Geht auch drum, dass Alfa das Engagement in der WTCC dieses Jahr nicht direkt nutzen kann, weil man den Alfa 156 nicht mehr im Sortiment hat.

N.Technology fährt aber mit offiziellem Status als Alfa-Partner, somit sind die Alfas als Marke in der Markenwertung drinnen.
Hat auch einige Alfas im Feld, die direkt als Privatteam fahren, unter anderem auch einen oder zwei GTAs.

Hab gedacht, daß Sie mit den 159er fahren. Hab leider nur kurz einen Ausschnitt gesehen und deshalb nicht gleich erkannt mit welchen Typ gefahren wird. Aber egal, hauptsache Sie sind konkurenzfähig!!

weiss einer wie teuer die Karten sein werden??? Hätte jemand Lust am Sonntag das Spektakel in Monza live zu geniessen?

meiner Meinung sollte es nicht teuer sein... max 20€. Das ist nicht so wie bei der F1, obwohl es eine WM ist. Dann kannst du ja grad die Auspuffanlage einfahren (im 3. bis in Monza )
