Besides, straight line speed is not what the X is about. Wasn't supposed to be. There are lots of cars with straight line speed, that's easy. I have issued this challenge before; I will take on any US road car with my '74 (1300) X on Dragon's Back (US 129 from Deal's Gap to Lake Chilowee). That's 11.3 miles and 321 turns. The last time I had my '74 up there to play and was catching the Sport Bike canyon carvers. This really freaked them out because these guys have NEVER seen a car that could run with them, let alone out run them, on that road. They all wanted to know what the funny little car was and why it was so fast. They also freaked when I told them that it was only a 1300 (most of them were riding 1100s or 1200s).
